2017 Honda Ridgeline
The long awaited 2017 Honda Ridgeline made its first appearance at the North American International Auto Show in 2016 and will hit the market in the coming months!
Fully designed, developed, and manufactured in America, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline offers improvements in terms of versatility, performance, and comfort, which make it stand out among other pickups of the same range.
Advanced technological innovations
Honda is already known for the variety of technological innovations it integrates into its cars, so adding even more cutting-edge technologies in this new truck seems to be a serious challenge. Yet, Honda made it with the 2017 Ridgeline. According to John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., the design team focused specifically on the elements that truck drivers want, leaving the ones that are superfluous. This pickup therefore ends up with a built-in In-Bed TrunkMC, a dual-action tailgate, and a first in-bed audio system.
Ultimate Versatility and Optimal Comfort
Inside the 2017 Honda Ridgeline, there is nothing comparable to other midsize 4-door pickups, both in terms of the materials used and the comfort. Not only is the vehicle interior spacious, versatile and sophisticated, but it also includes tri-zone climate controls, a push button start, a TFT center display, a new in-bed audio system, and an 8-inch touch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some versions even come with leather trim. So chic!
In many cases, comfort is not synonymous with versatility. This theory does not apply to the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. The rear 60/40-split fold-up seats certainly provide more versatility to the driver. The truck can also carry in comfort up to 4 passengers excluding the driver as well as long items such as a set of golf clubs for a total load of up to 725.7 kg. Once the rear seats are folded, the Ridgeline's cargo could carry even larger items.
Speaking of storage, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline exclusively has a lockable In-Bed TrunkMD, which is a completely safe storage compartment. The bed itself has a wide flat space of 1.2m, allowing owners to haul flat articles, and a drain plug for easy cleaning. The dual action tailgate is hinged both at the bottom and along its left side, which enables easier loading and unloading.
Some models even feature eight 158.7 kg tie down cleats and a 400-watt power inverter, located behind an access panel on the right bed wall, with the capacity to recharge power tools or to fuel portable stove, which is super-convenient for workers in the construction and catering services.
Increased performance
This time, Honda was inspired by the Honda's global light truck platform to design this pickup. Thanks to its rigid yet lightweight unibody ACEMD and to its fully independent suspension, the driver of the 2017 Ridgeline could enjoy a higher level of ride and handling refinement. Its superior performance on the road is a much appreciated asset for driving fans. It surely has something to do with its 3.5-liter, direct-injected i-VTECMD V-6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, its powertrain made this pickup ranks among the top-in-class efficient vehicles.
Some versions are also equipped with an i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring AWD system, which means it has both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations with an Intelligent Terrain Management feature (Normal, Sand, Snow and Mud modes), providing better on-road traction, regardless the terrain.
Speaking of safety, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is equipped with an advanced system of airbags. Moreover, the new Honda SensingMC technologies, including lane departure warning system (LDW), the Collision Mitigation Braking System™, the Forward Collision Warning (FCW), the Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and the Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), are also available in some models. All standard models are equipped with a multi-angle rearview camera, but drivers may get an upgrade. In that case, two options are available, based on the consumer's needs: Honda LaneWatch™ or Blind Spot Information system.
In short, 2017 Honda Ridgeline certainly holds some surprises. Can’t wait for its launch! And while you're waiting, get a look on the special promotions of your honda dealer in Montreal! They even have numerous financing solutions for you!
